Archive

Texts, services, whitepapers, marketing material and blog posts created during the blockchain, crypto and Web3 boom between 2017 and 2019.

Everything below is historical. None of the services described is available, and the prices shown are those of 2018.

These materials reflect the language, assumptions and technological imagination of that period — a time in which decentralized systems, token economies and digital infrastructures were often described not only as technologies, but as new models for organizing society, trust and freedom.

The archive remains online as a record of how emerging technologies were explained, promoted, discussed and imagined, and as part of an ongoing reflection on technological narratives and their promises. For an introduction, see How We Wrote the Freedom Machine.

On writing and explaining technology

These pieces were written about the crypto industry but are not really about it. They are about the difficulty of explaining technical work to people who do not share your assumptions — a problem that has not aged.

A chronicle of the boom

The period record, in the order it was written.

The studio itself

Service descriptions, rates, teaching material and client pages, as they stood when Intellicore was trading. Collaborator biographies have been redacted.

A note on authorship

Nine of the posts collected here were written by Madeleine Work, who worked with the studio between 2017 and 2019. Her byline appears on each of them.
